My first impressions of Twitter were that this was the ultimate in modern communication trivialities, even in the ever-buzzing presence of the blogosphere. However, in time I realized---probably because I'm growing older---that there is a place for everything and that Twitter is about keeping in touch with friends in a mist of their moments and thoughts, rather than about blogging. And Twitter is also a place to jot down thoughts as well, and keeps one from posting tiny blog updates.
I suppose Twitter is to email as the blog is to letters. Or perhaps more precisely: Twitter is to texting as blogging is to phone calls. Twitter, though, is broadcasted texting, usually aimed at no particular person, and thus is amenable to storing public thoughts (after all, it seems rather silly to text oneself except in the most private and odd of situations).
I will probably Twitter much more than blog.
